Goodbye LUCK, Hello GROWTH!

The Get Rich Quick Society

I was taught growing up all you need is one lucky event, and you will be rich.

…I grew up in a town of 3,000 people in Washington State during the 1980s and 1990s a time period when the idea that everyone could ‘GET RICH QUICK’ if they were only ‘LUCKY’ became the public anthem.

On July 16th, 1982, the Washington State Lottery was approved by Governor John Spellman. This is the ultimate get-rich-quick scheme backed by the largest authority ever created. The US Government.

I was hooked on the idea that you need natural ‘GIFT’; your family history and luck were the three most important criteria in order to become rich.

This was a massive mistake because I didn’t have a natural gift, and my family was poor. But I wasn’t dumb so, that meant I needed to become lucky.

How much time have you wasted in your life waiting for something lucky to happen to you?

Here is the TRUTH… The odds a miracle is going to happen to you and your family that will result in all your financial worries disappearing are 1 in 292,000,000. The same chances of you winning the Powerball.

Here is your problem. You can’t understand large numbers. You focus on the 1 in that equation, not the 292,000,000 other people who also think they will be the one.

I finally broke free from having the ‘LUCK MINDSET’, which resulted in poverty and adopted the ‘GROWTH MINDSET’.

A belief that you are in control of your future. You must focus on what you can control, not what you can not control.

Luck is a trap because it is predicated on you focusing on events that you have no control over.

You need to wake up and take responsibility for your current situation.

Here is how to change your life to TODAY and start your path out of the poverty mindset of ‘LUCK’ and ‘NATURAL GIFTS’.

Understand that consistency is the formula to success.

How much money you have in your bank account is a result of what you do consistently.

How much you weigh is a result of what you eat consistently and how much you exercise consistently.

What you do every day is a series of small actions that affect your outcome.

Focus your actions consistently towards thoughts, actions, and behaviors that you are in control of that will make a difference in your current situation.

It’s the micro-movements that lead to success. Focus on the tiniest action that leads to the next action that leads to the BIG results you want.

Find the domino that knocks down the bigger dominoes that knock down the massive domino you are trying to achieve.

Don’t try to knock down the biggest domino. Just focus on the lead domino and hit that damn thing every day. Over and over and over again.

Forgive yourself when you make a mistake and get back on track. Even the ROCK has a cheatday.

If your goal is to have an amazing body, then the one doughnut at a team meeting will not make you gain 10 lbs.

But a doughnut every morning will contribute to gaining 10 lbs.

If you’re consistent about eating doughnuts, then you can’t expect to shift 10 lbs.

If you’re consistent about investing your money, you will be a rock star investor someday.

Commit your time, attention, and energy to areas of your life that breed success one at a time.

You can’t be at two places at once.

Get rid of the guilt that you are not with your family when you are working.

Get rid of the guilt you are not working with when you are with your family.

Get rid of the guilt you are not connecting with your friends when you are working out.

It’s the everyday small motions that consistently feed your success.

Be determined to be consistent.
