I used to be stressed and overwhelmed by time. There was never enough of it, and it drove me crazy.
The only way I could relieve the pressures was to have a nightly Manhattan. I tried meditation, but alcohol was much quicker and easier.
Raise your hand if you feel controlled by TIME.
I feel controlled by time.
I get it.
We all get it.
What if instead of ‘wasted’ time, ‘losing’ time, or not ‘enough’ time…
We CREATE time!
Then you don’t need to ‘find’ it like it’s already lost. You can create it.
Make the space in your calendar.
Gotcha, most of you don’t use a calendar.
If you don’t take control of your time and focus, someone else will.
How do you create time? You might ask.
We were all given the same 24 hours, right?
We create time by making a routine around our priorities.
Around our routines, which are essentially what we want to focus on, is a massive moat.
A big frigging wall.
Call it your personal boundaries. Protect your time from outside forces, trying to steal it from you.
You are at a disadvantage. These forces are major intellectual machines that no you better than you know yourself.
You can easily conquer them because, like a magician’s trick, it loses its power once you know how it works.
The distraction economy loses its hold on you when you shine the light on it.
Learn the power of NO. You don’t need to worry about sounding rude.
Here’s a pro tip. You don’t need to explain why you can’t make it to the party.
Choose your priorities. Family, Health, Business, Career, Money, Community.
If you have the luck to interview your favorite famous/influential person today…
ie: (Oprah, The President of the United States, Queen Elizabeth, your favorite sports star)
YOU MAKE THE TIME!!
It’s important. You figure it out.
That is a priority. Stopping, taking shit for granted.
Are you taking your health for granted?
Are you taking your family for granted?
Are you taking your career for granted?
Double and triple down on what matters.
When you do that, you gain urgency. That urgency makes it easier to say no to what isn’t a priority because you don’t have time for it anymore.
Use time as a lever to get more out of what you want and desire that will get you to your goals and dreams.
Stop settling for what you have because you are out of time.
What are those 3 to 4 things that are most important to you each day?
Make the time and guard it with everything you have.
Like it will change your life to do it.
Make time sacred.
